Office Profile

Singapore has been steadily growing as a reputable financial services location for over 40 years and is establishing itself as a viable alternative to the more traditional financial centres in the region.  With a pro-business environment, excellent infrastructure, a highly educated workforce and proactive financial regulator, it has gained a reputation as a preferred location to set up business.  Strategically located within the region, it offers a gateway to the wider Asian market, as well as a burgeoning local fund management community.  Total assets under management in Singapore have topped the S$ 1 trillion mark and the commitment of the government to providing a stable environment to conduct business would indicate that this success is likely to continue.

Custom House opened in Singapore in February 2007 and from a standing start quickly established itself an important addition to a growing financial services sector there.  Strategically chosen to provide the firm with a presence in an Asian time zone to complete its ‘round the clock’ global operational platform, the firm started to attract indigenous business of its own, due to its success in building a substantial fund services model and was often quoted as the template for establishing a fund administration presence in Singapore.

As the first Custom House office open for business each day, Singapore plays a key role in the trade data capture and reconciliation function for the wider Group, as well as servicing local Asian clients of its own.  Custom House, Singapore, offers the full suite of Group services, with an established management team and a motivated and experienced workforce.  It fulfils a dual role of participating in the global operational model, as well as attracting and servicing local clients and this has been evidenced by the winning mandates from local managers, therefore providing a global reach to our clients with a local presence.

Along with the local market, Singapore acts as a platform for other jurisdictions in the region.  We retain a sales and relationship management presence in Hong Kong and actively participate in industry events in nearby emerging markets.  Overall Custom House sees a positive, long term future for its Singapore office, as it continues to play its part in the Group and win local business based upon its enhanced reputation in the region.
